Is it me or are you also starting to get cabin fever too? Don’t get me wrong though – quarantining is something I still feel passionately about so we all can protect ourselves, our loved ones, and each other. However, there are just some moments where I just need to get out and take a socially distant walk to remind myself there is a world outside my house.
That’s when I go visit the giant in our backyard.
…..
Mt. Tabor of course!
Mt. Tabor is often forgotten about even though it’s this massive hill and park in the backyard of many SE people’s homes. It’s been my go to spot for venturing out in the world while being cognizant and mindful of the pandemic we’re in.
There is SO much space to take a light hike and get your steps in. I’ve had socially distant picnics with my family here. Gone on bike rides around the area. I even had a little sunset yoga session here to clear the mind.
I honestly know it’s rough being inside all the time having to isolate yourself from your friends, family, and community. Small things like visiting Mt. Tabor has kept me sane and reassured that this is just our new normal for a little bit. Recognizing everyone needs to lead their homes eventually for their own sanity, I highly recommend visiting Mt. Tabor where there is so much space to spread out and be outside but also distant from others!
