Hi readers!
So by now, you may have discovered I’m a huge fan of color. In fact, I’m part of a coalition of local businesses that believes there is a transformative power of color in design – follow us at Good Color Collective We’ll be hosting events and conversations tied to color and design following our debut during this year’s Design Portland Please reach out if you want more information on how you can participate.
Every day you are likely attracted to something because of its color. And when it comes to real estate, this is no exception. It can make or break a room; the right color for a front door is known to help homes get sold; and paint can even make rooms seem bigger. Here’s a recent article from USA Today that includes a few more tips.
When my client approached me almost a year ago to talk about getting her home ready to sell, color was a big part of that conversation. The home is in Northeast, in the Concordia neighborhood. Classic Bungalow-ville. She was going to be finishing a major remodel she’d been working on and was ready to sell. We chose a neutral paint palette for her interior, including my tried and true Sugar Dust from Miller Paint. My friend and fellow lover of color (in fact, she’s a bonafide color expert!) Puji Sherer also helped recommend exterior colors. We wanted to stay classic to the era, but make the home’s curbside appeal shine and inspire people to joyfully walk inside. Here’s the before and after result:

Now, the exterior matches the inside’s quality updates and upgrades, and it’s happily a new home to a wonderful set of buyers, thanks to my colleague and “Roommate” Tracey Henkels with Living Room Realty.
