Out of state relocation transactions are always a bit sentimental for me because it’s such a huge honor to to help facilitate such a monumental life change. It takes a massive amount of communication, confidence and trust that’s required to perform well.
The initial conversation is usually an interview of sorts where the clients and I feel each other out to make sure we are a good match. It’s important for all parties to be in alignment to reach their goal.
The next step is educating the client on the process as it may vary from the state they are coming from. In Phil & Lisas case they had previously purchased their first home, a condo, in Hawaii. They were now in the market for a single family residence so we discussed how the transaction may be very different from their last purchase. There will always be questions at every step of the way and I encourage them. A key thing of importance, to me, is finding the answers to questions my clients might not have thought to ask.
After the informational stage the fun begins: touring! We picked a day/time that we could go see places via video chat.
Finally we found a house with major curb appeal in Brentwood-Darlington, went through inspections and closed without a hitch.
And alas we met in person on key day.
If you’re considering an out of state move to Oregon let’s have a chat!
