“Have you heard about the cute, historic city of Willamette down past West Linn?”
“You mean the historic and cute Willamette neighborhood in West Linn?”, I say.
“No, Willamette, down on the river – with all the cute storefronts and shops, and historic homes!”
Right! The historic Willamette neighborhood in West Linn. We love it!
Well, whichever city you think can claim this fun district, it’s definitely getting noticed by Portland-area home buyers. Our clients Nick and Annie started considering a move more than a year ago when Nick landed a new dream job south of Portland. The commute from SE 54th St in Portland to Nick’s new job wore thin for the entire family, and it became clear that a shorter commute, and preferably a bike commute, was the goal for their next real estate chapter.
But Annie quickly expressed reservations about living in the Suburbs. The plethora of 80s and 90s houses just were not appealing to her, and after living in a walk and roll-able SE Portland community for the better part of a decade, she was resistant to giving that up.
Enter the Historic Willamette neighborhood of West Linn. Old House charm? Check. Blocks to the neighborhood school? Check. Blocks to shops, the Summer Street Market, and restaurants? Check. Option for Nick to bike commute to work? Check. Blocks to this?
Check. Double Check.
Oh and this…
Congratulations Nick and Annie. We know you are going to make the most of everything your new fantastic suburban neighborhood has to offer.
