Wilshire Park Wonder

By Living Room Realty, August 26, 2019

WOW on this property! With Wilshire Park as your backyard and an old growth fir anchoring the property, this gem was the perfect find for someone seeking to stay in an urban neighborhood and yet have access to nature right out your back door. My Buyer, Anna couldn’t be more grateful to find THE ONE nor more at peace with this decision. “Worth the wait” is peppered throughout our chats! I treasure long term clients in a special way – there’s an inherent trust and responsibility I carry as I share in their evolving life story. In Anna’s case, she was first a client some 17 years ago, pre-marriage, before the kid and before life evolved into the rich version it is for her today.

A process like this infuses my sometimes weary real estate spirit with renewed energy. From my amazing Buyer, Anna to the wonderful Seller who had been in the home 52 years,to the list agent, Jim Corbett, who seamlessly fostered creative cooperation while managing to still protect his clients best interests, everything aligned. Not that we didn’t have much to navigate and negotiate-we did-but it shows you that when everyone shows up as their best selves and there is willingness to give on both ends, everyone can get what they need.

I even had the pleasure of crossing paths with the seller’s daughters who spoke of deep roots in the neighborhood. They originally lived nearby and her father as a child watched this home being built. Years before they owned this house, the seller as a young boy would walk through Wilshire Park on the way to school, interacting with the hobos who would camp there during the depression years. It was from these migratory workers that he learned to whittle. The seller’s daughter further shared that when my client goes to pull up the upstairs carpet she should look for a faint circle pattern in the wood floor, an etched memory of the first owners daughter practicing endless ballet twirls.

This buyer sale for me was less transaction, more interaction and for that,  I am exceedingly grateful.  More and more these days, the bottom line of the dollars involved seems to take precedence over everything. I feel blessed by everyone involved in this stewardship change, a beautiful reminder that the people involved and the imprint they make is the most valuable currency in any home sale.
