Safe Space to Call Home

When Jason first met Lucas and Jamie, he knew they were special. When it came time for them to put in an offer on their new home, they were cool and collected and acted quickly before the competition peeked its head around the corner.

Our feeling about Jamie and Lucas was solidified as we read a letter they wrote to the sellers during the negotiations to make the process seem more “human” as they termed it.  We have never read a letter to the seller that was quite like this one.

Jamie & Lucas both are deep believers in community and are those who actively make an intention to stand up for the disenfranchised.  In their letter, they introduced themselves to the sellers to make the transaction more human and dove into their vision for the home and how it was intended to be a safe haven for those in need. They wanted to create a safe space for people of color, the LGBTQ community, asylum seekers, grassroots organizers wanting to host meetings, and anyone who needed affordable housing that felt like they were getting priced out of living in our great city of Portland.

They wanted a home for a cause greater than themselves and that’s exactly what happened. Through the ups and downs of the transaction, Lucas and Jamie stood firm and ended up the champions with keys in hand at closing.

We are so excited about the change you both are going to make in our beautiful city Lucas and Jamie, and how your new home is going to have that special sparkle which we hope will ignite a flame in us all to be the change we want to see in the world.

Cheers to you both Jamie & Lucas!
