In 1848, most of the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood was land claimed by Clinton Kelly, a Methodist minister from Kentucky. In 1889, the neighborhood was named after Sir Walter Scott’s 1821 novel, Kenilworth – a romantic story set in Elizabethan England.
