SOLD // Simplifying in SE Portland!

Congratulations Morgan and Mackenzie!!!

M+M are yes people. They take on a lot and actually execute all of it, flawlessly and on time. The kind of duo who make me cock my head and think, “How the-?!”

During COVID, they relocated to Oregon and started their homesteading era in a large house on a large property. It was dreamy – and a lot of work.

After nearly 5 years in the country, they were tired and ready to simplify. Move back into the city, closer to their community. Spend more time on creative pursuits and less time on chores and maintenance. Slow their roll.

But old habits die hard. A grand old foursquare fixer oozing with charm (and a wild history to boot) caught their eye, and the wheels started turning. We threw in an offer and it was off to the races!

Midway through the inspection period, reality began sinking in. Their gut-check brought their *why* clearly into focus. The whole point was to simplify, not sign up for another project!

So, we pivoted. Logistics and time constraints were breathing down our necks. Fortunately, M+M are women of action. Within 2 days, we were pending again – this time, on a sweet Cape Cod in Richmond. She was a sight for sore eyes and a salve for the weary soul.

This house knew what they needed. Inspections went SO well for 1942 home, further confirming that *this must be the place* feeling.

We closed on their new home 2 days after selling their country property. The destination certainly justified the 6-month harrowing journey on this one. It was a long road, expect-the-unexpected the whole way, but I think blood pressures have finally returned to baseline.

I am so excited for this next phase for M+M (and Aiden and Griffon, and the cat, and the bunnies…) This was our third transaction together. I’m so honored to be a part of their journey over the years, and grateful for the rapport, trust, and humor that comes with repeat clients.

CHEERS Y’ALL!

One and Done: Closed in Richmond!

How cute are these two on their brand new front porch?!

Sherwin and Jessica sauntered into an open house I was hosting in February. They were looking to move out of their west side apartment and into one of the east side’s more walkable neighborhoods.

We began working together, which was fun because 1) they’re cool and 2) they like beautiful houses 😉 Don’t get me wrong, I love nothing more than helping buyers purchase “plain jane” homes with massive upside potential. But there’s just nothing like a dolled up classic prewar Portland home, is there?

Another great aspect of working with Jess and Sherwin – they knew what they wanted. Not as much in a 3 bed, 2 bath, 2000 sq ft kinda way – more that they just knew when a home had *it,* and when it didn’t. They were strategic about the homes they saw, and knew what they were and weren’t willing to compete for.

So, when we stumbled along a gorgeous foursquare just blocks off Division with incredible bones, Jess and Sherwin saw what a fresh paint job and a few new light fixtures could do for this property, and we pounced.

One offer, one acceptance, a fairly chill inspection, reasonable sellers, great co-op agents, and a high appraisal (!!) later, and it’s champagne on the front porch time!

These two were a joy to work with! Cheers Jessica + Sherwin, can’t wait to see which white you pick for the walls!
