Let’s talk RESOURCES!

Let’s talk RESOURCES!

Being a self proclaimed “Resource Queen” is one of the many badges I wear with THE UTMOST honor. I firmly believe that for every problem there is a solution/resource out there. I also believe that everyone is deserving of home ownership regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances. However, as the ancient adage goes, ‘with great power comes great responsibility’.

This couldn’t have rang more true with the amazing buyers of this lovely listing. My clients being hard working, dedicated to the process and trusting me the whole way through made turning their dreams into reality a fulfilling challenge. After some failed attempts at home ownership with past realtors/programs they were able to find success with me! I knew from the very beginning that this was a responsibility bestowed upon me that I could accept with confidence. I constantly reassured my buyers that they were in fact worthy of their goal, home ownership.

Being well versed in first time home buyers programs, down payment assistance programs and negotiation techniques such as seller paid closing costs I was able to guide my client to the path of home ownership with the help of one of my INCREDIBLE preferred lenders.

Thanks for trusting me and never giving up, Deskin Family!

You all are a testament to what can happen when you have a bit of faith, a lot of patience and the right team working for you.

It was a pleasure & a privilege.

Troutdale: The Gateway to the Gorge, Alright

Hi Readers!

Recently, I had the pleasure of helping my client Bill sell the Troutdale home he raised his family in. They spent 26 years there, and now it’s home to a young family who will be experiencing all the great things that area has to offer. Growing up here, I would spend just about every winter weekend driving through Troutdale on my way up to ski Mt. Hood. Raise your hand if you’ve skied the Glade! Nowadays (till my boys are old enough to shred), we love to head to Thousand Acre Park for our Boxer/Boston Terrier/Pit Bull Roz to romp. In the summer months, it’s great to stop by Sugar Pine Drive In for a sandwich or soft serve. On colder days or after a Gorge hike, be sure to stop into Tad’s Chick N Dump. Don’t forget to hit the outlet mall, their Pendleton store has some great scores, and they’ve just opened up a Columbia Outlet, too.

I love this little pit stop on the way to the Gorge or Mountain, and it’s also got a terrific quality of life for living – schools, restaurants, a charming downtown and beautiful parks nearby. If you are thinking of getting out of Dodge and want a slice of country living, call me. This Woodland gal will show you the ropes, and take you to the Sandy to skip rocks, too.

Till next time, high fives!

A bridge across a Steiner

This Fall, I was able to help clients buy their dream home, a magical log home on the river built in 1939-40 by the revered Steiner Family.

This home had been lovingly restored with all the particular “Steiner” features intact — from vertical barked logs, to wood-batten chinking, wrought iron closures, speakeasy-windows in doors, and especially the ornate balustrade from hand picked bent-wood lumber. Too many features to list, but what’s special about this house is the lantern-lit BRIDGE, spanning the living room and connecting the two sides of the home!

To own a Steiner home, whether it be one of the hundreds of Steiner cabins or a stately log home such as this, is a true dream for most Oregonians and as a realtor, just as special to assist in conveying this home to its future stewards.  I will mark working on this home as one of the highlights of my career.

Ruffing it at Thousand Acre Dog Park

What do dogs dream about? Steak dinners? A new chew toy? The longest game of fetch in the history of the world?

As they lay their furry heads down on that new dog bed you bought on sale at Home Goods last weekend, kick their little paws out, and head off to dream land – do you know what I think they’re dreaming of? 1000 acres of dirt and grassy knolls, where dogs run free alongside a gorgeous river complete with a swimming hole to cool off in on those hot August days. But where does this dream land exist? Surely there’s no such canine nirvana nearby!

Not so fast there buddy. This doggy Disneyland is nearer than you think. Follow the Columbia River east from Portland to charming Troutdale. Among the gateway to the Historic Columbia River Highway and cheap gas (seriously, the gas is cheap in Troutdale), you’ll find the ultimate playground your pup has been dreaming of.

Thousand Acres dog park has been making fetch happen for years now. Let your beloved Fido or Fidoette run their hearts out in the wide open spaces of the Sandy River Delta Park. Sandwiched between the Sandy and Columbia rivers, this space is beloved by many pups and their owners. Open from dawn to dusk everyday, make your tail-wagger’s dream come true with an epic adventure to Thousand Acres park.
