The Importance of Being Ready to Buy a Home

Wendy and Jeremy Niculescu were ready to buy a home. They were ready because they had moved from California and were living with family.  They were ready because their house in California was under contract and set to close. They were ready because they were pre-approved with a great lender. They were ready because we met in February to discuss the process of buying a home in Oregon. They were ready because they waited to look at homes until all of this took place. And that made all of the difference for them.

By the time the Niculescus’ were ready to buy a home, it was well into the COVID-19 outbreak. Waiting it out wasn’t an option so we set out to see 7 homes one day; armed with gloves, booties and hand sanitizer. By the end of the day, Wendy and Jeremy wanted to make an offer. And they were ready. They were able to compete for a home that they loved because of their preparation and patience.

I cannot stress enough the importance of being truly ready to buy a home. In this case the Niculescu’s they were able to take less risk and put fewer people at risk, because they were ready. List your home first you need to, shop around with lenders and get pre-approved before you start looking. Meet with an agent (like me!) to walk through the process and learn what to expect. Be ready to buy a home.

Wendy and Jeremy closed today on fantastic home in Tualatin. Their new neighborhood is just what they always dreamed of with cul-de-sacs, kids playing outside, families on bike rides and parks near by. It was my sincere pleasure to guide them through this process. Welcome to Oregon Wendy & Jeremy – Thank you for being ready to buy a home!
