Seiji, Alisa, Tak, and Kai Shiratori were looking for their forever home in Wilsonville. I met them years ago when our sons were in 1st grade. They moved away for Seiji’s work knowing very well that they wanted to return to Oregon. Since moving back to Oregon and renting in Wilsonville, Tak and Kai both began attending public schools in the Wilsonville school district, and they didn’t want to move out of the community that they had grown to love.
After searching for several months, they found their dream home. While wrapping up their home purchase, Seiji made the exciting decision to run for school district in West Linn and Wilsonville. He wanted to bring greater diversity to the school board. If you aren’t familiar with Seiji the candidate, here is a brief excerpt pulled from his website:
“We are a multiethnic, multi-faith nation and community and those who represent us should reflect that fact. Our family is just one of many families in our community that represents that diversity. Regardless of ethnicity, race, faith, sexual orientation or gender identity, we all deserve to be equally considered members of our community! Inclusivity and diversity are not just catch phrases. I look forward to not just being a voice at the table, but empowering other diverse voices to be heard and considered.”
What an exciting time for this sweet family. Mazel tov!
